Ecological Roads
Santa Cruz, GALAPAGOS ISLANDS
Problem
Road rehabilitation was needed on Santa Cruz Island. The CGREG (Galapagos Regional Government) prohibits the extraction of stone material, and transporting it from the mainland was costly and polluting.
Solution
Among several proposals, the PRS-Neoloy® System was selected as the most favorable ecological solution, since 100% of the material from the damaged roads was reused, contributing to the Circular Economy and Urban Mining Model. This respected the ecological fragility of the island environment.
